Continuing our Rouleur Award series (see link for award details) with the 140k event. All sub 200k populaires will start and finish at one of the two Rouleur Brewing Co's locations (Carlsbad and North Park).

This 100k populaire will start from Rouleur Brewing in North Park. On this ride, you'll ride east, making your way to Mission Trails Regional Park to Jackson Dr, where you'll turn toward La Mesa and El Cajon before Dehesa Rd to start your climb into Harbison Canyon. Just when you think you have reached the summit, you'll turn on Frances Dr which becomes Mountain View Rd to climb further until the quiet community of Crest. Descending back into El Cajon, you'll ride north to Santee where you'll climb over the northern edges of Mission Trails Regional Park on the 52 bike path. From Tierrasanta, you'll ride on a stretch of city roads through Mira Mesa, passing MCAS Miramar before reaching Sorrento Valley. You'll jump on the I-5 bike path to Gilman Dr through UCSD where you'll connect up to the Rose Canyon and Rose Creek bike paths, passing Mission Bay before hitting your last climb up Presidio Dr for the final miles to Rouleur in North Park for the finish.

On your way to the 100 mile populaire, this excursion will enable you to "nibble" on the climbs in East County. Sections of this route are taken from the Honey Springs Made A Littlel Sweeter 200k for you to sample while still riding near the comforts of the city coastal roads.
